#Todd #AmericanStaffy #Playful #Pawsonality #GiveaDogaHome

Why hello there.
I'm Todd, and I'm a 1-and-a-half-year-old male American Staffy X.

I'm here because I need a new home. I'm wanting to keep my hoomans company as much as I can...because I know you guys get lonely sometimes too.

I want to be the reason you call off your plans with friends, so we can just chill in front of the telly and eat icecream all night.

I'm very loving and affectionate, but at first I can be a little shy, so just give me some time and I'll be on your lap in no time!

I'm pretty well-behaved and polite, even when I meet other dogs - but I can be a bit choosy with my doggy friends. If they're calm and polite, I'm usually a very good boy, but if they're rude and in my face, I'll woof at them and tell them to bark off!

I friggin' love my toys. They are my prised pawsessions. I love soccer balls, tennis balls, rope toys, squeaky toys...you name it! But my absolute fave game of all is TUG-O-WAR!!!! YASSSSS! This allows me to have quality time with my hooman.

I don't mind kids, but I'm thinking kids over the age of 10 would be best for me. The little ones may be just a little too firey for my likeyyyy.

So, what are you waiting for? Come and visit me! Actually, better wait til' we're open - 11am - 3pm every day of the week. I hope to see you tomorrow!!!

Sweet dreams all!

Love always,

Todd xo

#NationalVolunteerWeek #WeLoveourVollies #Keith

** NATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK **

Meet Keith, one of our very dedicated blue badge volunteers, who is here every week without fail.

Keith has been volunteering at the Dogs' Home for five years and has racked up over 3-and-a-half-thousand hours of volunteering and says his favourite part about the Refuge, other than the dogs of course, is all of the life-long friends he has made whilst volunteering.

Keith's favourite part of being at the Refuge is walking dogs in pairs, so he can spend time with the dogs and the other volunteers.

Keith's decision to start volunteering at the Dogs' Home came about five years ago when he was moving towards semi-retirement. He wanted to find something that gave him a sense of self-worth and also to give back to the community.

When we asked Keith who his favourite dog was, he stated that he didn't really have a favourite but really enjoyed Adonis' company and said, and we quote "Adonis is 99% lovely, 1% nuts" and that's why he loves him.

Keith's most memorable adoption was a dog named Funky, who came to the Refuge and needed a lot of work to get her to the point of being adoptable. Funky was very dog reactive, but thanks to our former General Manager, Judy, our Senior Trainers, Sharon and Danni, some very dedicated volunteers and staff and a full year of training and controlled socialisation, Funky was at a point where she could finally be adopted and she was adopted by a wonderful lady named Claire. The best part of this story is that Funky is now dog social and is loving life at the ripe old age of 8-years!

We asked Keith what message he would like to say to the public:
"I'm a very strong believer in if you want to feel good about something, you need to put energy and effort into it. Instant gratification is basically rubbish. Rescue dogs do often require a lot of energy and commitment, but by god, you get it back in spades if you're willing to put in the effort. There are so many dogs out there already, why not give one of our dogs a second chance, because they all deserve it".

Thank you to Keith for all of his time and effort over the five years he has been helping us and our dogs - you're one in a million!

A visit after Funky was adopted. This photo is called 'Funk in tha Trunk'. She didnt want Keith to go. Just goes to show how much of an impact he makes to the doggos.

Funky is a credit to all involved 💙 Great to read these success stories it’s thanks to the effort of certain individuals who can get these dogs into homes. Time and time again we are shown that these dogs can be rehomed given the time and effort 💙

Funky sends big love and sloppy kisses to Keith. She has a baby bro now who she adores and has taught her to play. You do an amazing job Keith. I know you made a big difference to the Funkster. Xxx

I remember Funky and of course Keith. One of my all time favourite fellow volunteers. Always there, always willing to help. Thanks for your friendship Keith xx

Go Keith! What a legend and a great perspective on effort versus reward! In life and with all dogs - you get back what ya put in! Thanks for all you do.

Keith you are a blessing to the dogs you care for and to your volunteer buddies . Volunteers are such dedicated , loyal and outstanding people. Cheers to all you who make such a difference to the life of each dog 🐶 x

A pleasure to spend time with Keith such dedication to our dogs.

Well said Keith😊

Congrats and a good job well done buddy

Love this 😍 Good on you Keith 👏

Bless you Keith

Thank you Keith 😘

Jordan Cook if you didn’t make me go to work, I would just volunteer here all day long

Well done Keith

Super Keith ! Lovely man x

#Daisy #Kelpie #LittleMissDaisy #LittleMissPawsonality #Pawsonality #GiveaDogaHome

"Let the sunshine in, face it with a grin, smilers never lose, so let the sunshine in"

Howdy ladies and gents,
I'm Daisy...you know, like the flower, also known as Little Miss Daisy.
Did you know daisies represent purity and innocence? Well, that's me! Ok, ok, you got me...I'm not always innocent, but I try!

Anyway, I have a habit of rambling, so let's get down to biiizzznizzz! I'm a 2-year-old female Kelpie X, and I'm after a new place to set up camp and share my wonderful life with some special hoomans.

One thing I've always been is brilliant...I'm so clever! I would absolutely, well and truly ace obedience classes, so I ask that you enrol me cause I want to show just how smart I am.

My favourite thing in the whole wide world is my ROPE TOY! I dunno what it is about that cluster of string, but it is pawsitively the best thing ever created. I know other dogs chase after tennis balls and they think they're great..but tennis balls are SO LAST YEAR! I mean this new fangdangle rope toy is equivalent to your hooman iPhone X...but the rope toy is better...obviously. It doesn't run out of battery ever! and you can drop it in the doggy pool and it STILL WORKS afterwards...no need to soak in rice overnight...woohoo!

Anyway, on another note...I'm looking for hoomans who have experience with working breeds. I'm high-energy and my physical needs must be met for me to be the happy-go-lucky gal that I am. Let's go hiking and running and jumping...I can't wait!

I don't really wanna talk about other pesky dogs, but the Communications lady says I have to...and she has treats, so I'm kinda gunna do what she says. Anywho, other dogs are not my forte. When I see other pooches I get a wave of emotion which goes a little something like this:

*OMG!!! a DOG! I'm so excited (usually lasts between 2-5 seconds)
*OMG!!! Is this dog starring me down!? That dog better not be starring me down (usually lasts between 5-20 seconds)
* Who the heck does this dog think he/she is!? Get out of ma face before I practise my Bruce Lee moves on you, mofo!

So, as you can see I'm pretty unsure of other dogs and I would suggest that my new hoomans get some professional help before I'm taken to area's that are populated with lots of pooches. I have high hopes of improving, so I just need YOU to help me <3

Ok, so you may have gathered by now that I'm little miss pawsonality? I'm full-on, affectionate, SUPER CUTE (I mean, just look at moiiii Kimmy!), and super smart, but I'm not really suited to young kids. I much prefer teens!

Anyway, that's about all I have time for folks, so come on down! Come and meet me in pawson.

Love always,
Little Miss Daisy xx

Nothing beats a back rub after a long day at work 😌

JJ Emerson spotted this pair of kangaroos in the Coombabah Lakes Conservation Area in the Destination Gold Coast. He said usually in this spot the roos are just grazing, with a few young males doing a bit of sparring. Apparently, one of them started to have a scratch, and the other one took it as a challenge which resulted in a "bit of a spar!" (Photo: JJ Emerson)

Located just a short drive north of the Destination Gold Coast CBD, the Coombabah Lakes Conservation Area is chock-a-block with wildlife. JJ Emerson usually comes to this spot to watch the roos, but he says "it's also awesome to see koalas". In fact, this lovely wetland area is home to 274 species of animals, including koalas, wallabies, kangaroos and flying foxes, along with 24 internationally protected migratory bird species. (Photo: JJ Emerson)

Oh yes! Only they weren’t giving each other a back rub! 😂

Now, a lil to the left, up and bit, ahhhh yes that's the spot, darn I forgot to add dencorub, too. keep it up, this feels good..

Jacob Auld saw the sun and the tree in the background and begun having flashbacks (flashforwards?) to the burning of teldrassil

Thanks so much for sharing Australia.com!! And thanks to everyone that enjoyed this photo!! Be sure to head over to my instagram to check out more of my favourite nature and adventure shots!! 😁😁😁 www.instagram.com/jjemerson_wildlife/

Roberta Masala Anche ai canguri piace un bel massaggino alla schiena! ☝️😂😂😂

Monday morning traffic is looking pretty heavy in Port Stephens 🐬🐬🐬

Video: Dolphin Swim Australia in Visit NSW
...

Comment on Facebook

Regarded as Australia's dolphin capital, Port Stephens, which is located a 2.5-hour drive north of Sydney.com and is home to a remarkable dolphin encounter. Most swim-with-dolphin experiences involve floating in the ocean and waiting in a stationary position until the dolphins approach you, but with Dolphin Swim Australia swimmers are pulled slowly alongside the dolphins. Participants are attached to a harness and clipped to a tow rope between the twin bows of a catamaran. As the dolphins move playfully through the water, you effectively swim in time with them. Photo: Dolphin Swim Australia

My dream some day...Iam in my sixties...but I can still dream .....someday to swim with the dolphins...what an intelligent mammal....even to pet one I’d be happy....

Will add to my next to-do for Australia!!!

Many of the higher altitude areas of Discover Tasmania were blanketed in powder-white flakes after a recent autumn snowfall, creating some beautiful photo opportunities like this frosty forest track. What a feast for the eyes! Photo: Cam Blake Photography

Winter has arrived a tad early in Discover Tasmania, by the looks of things! Cam Blake Photography captured these stunning shots in Discover Tasmania's Mount Field National Park near Hobart & Beyond, which experienced an autumn snowfall a couple of weeks ago.

Up at Katoomba in the Blue Mountains in June, you will get lots of snow. The British people living here have a 2nd Christmas every year, mainly for the kids, big fireplaces, Sleigh rides, Santa, great time for all.

Saw my first snow in Tasmania in October 1966 when we moved to Storeys Creek, on the side of Ben Lomond. Burnt the toast looking out the kitchen window at the falling snow and the pristine backyard....a real experience for a girl from the out back. Loved Tassie.Thank you for that pic..quite reminiscent of the track down the mountain which we had to conquer to get to Avoca and on to other places.

This is beautiful really...I can imagine how sweet it would be going through this path and having some beautiful photos as such

Of course it snows in Australia! Always wanted to check out Perisher!

I knew it did I studied Australia in the early 60's when we though about moving there. :)

There you go, driving to work last year.

Yes I did know, because we see it every year. 😊❄⛄

I did not know. Cannot wait to visit Australia one day. Looks beautiful, i love snow.

Mount Wellington on Tasmania, went there in 1986 and couldn't see a foot in front of my face!

We even have ski resorts! Amazing right?

Had no clue. Interest fact. Learn something new every day!

I think you have your winter while we in North America has summer. We went from winter to summer this month.

A few years ago on the way to my parents property

It snowed when we were there in October but it’s still amazing place to go or live

Learn to ski in Thredbo, instructors are much more patient and encouraging than in France, especially with an elderly (50++) beginner.

and yet, coming up to 65 years, I've still never seen snow...

Never been there, but pretty sure i'd perfer an Australian winter over a Canadian one.

Jon Warnholtz not what you normally connect Australia to!

austrlia is amazing whether it's snow or not 👍❤️

Aww I love snow!

My Mom went skiing when she was growing up in Australia.

Me, I didn't know it snowed in Australia.

I’ve seen the snow only twice in my life in Oberon, NSW and on Mt Wellington in Hobart, Tasmania.
