Orange-bellied parrots are one of the most endangered birds in the world – there are fewer that 40 of them left in the wild. They're also one of the only migratory breeds of parrots, making a trip from Tasmania to south-east Australia and back again each year. This year, a group of the birds are getting a lift to ensure more of them survive.

A group of wild orange-bellied parrots is hitching a lift to their winter feeding grounds. The birds were taken into captivity in Tasmania before the migration and they've been given a luxury ride instead after many birds died in earlier migrations.
