Police are urging road users to take more care after a spate of incidents involving pedestrians and vehicles. #bnetraffic #7News

Please educate pedestrians - crossing lines does not mean they can just walk out and expect everyone to stop - they are safe areas to cross after they've checked it's all clear to step out. I'm surprised a whole lot more aren't hit.

Good to see a lecture on plain common sense...too many people are not concentrating on traffic. Several times someone has stepped off the curb directly in front of our car without checking. They then as the police have just described, turn and glare or mouth something if you have to brake rapidly, and justifiably toot the horn, or mouth at them.....you just avoided hitting them...!!!!!!! The adrenaline in your system from the shock then tends to impair your own driving judgement for a while after, so it is doubly dangerous...

Pedestrians need to be aware of their surrounds as well. Get off the mobile and get your earplugs out as well as stop thinking they have right of way and the car needs to stop for them.

Stop and look before u step out. Don’t walk out behind cars that are backing out of shopping centres u wait reach kids. To look also remind others to check traffic around

As a regular visitor to Brisbane city my family sees a lot of drivers using mobile phones whilst driving, pedestrians with earphones in ears and folks walking with mobile phone to ears and texting this is not to say it doesn’t happen anywhere else but people’s lack of own safety is very apparent today.

Well done Guys doing a great job😎

Important topic! Thanks for this

People's attitudes and being neglectful of their surrounds when "Walking and Talking" on their phones Is that call really that important?. These types of incidents not only impacts on the person involved but many others as well.

Keep up the good work!

Says a lot about common sense not being so common when apparently people still need to be told how to safely cross a road :(

I think at some point a test of older drivers to assess alertness can't hurt, beyond what medical practitioners think. Doctors will assess one aspect of health but not necessarily driving ability.

I remember when I worked in Adelaide st back 15yrs ago it was hazardous back then . Something not right about that area . Always had a dangerous feel . I think traffic drives to fast in that area. That was before Mobile phone usage

I got yelled at yesterday for giving way to another vehicle. The person yelling was the person driving the vehicle I was giving way to. Would have loved to see results of drug test on him.

70% of people don't stop at crossings. It's unbelievable. I've nearly been hit several times and witnessed others near misses

Simple in the USA its big fine for Jwalking

Steve Oh, cyclists are forced onto the road by the government not police 🙄

Just saw a lamborgini car with a P plater driver...

I think phone music and ear plugs have a lot to be desired

Terrible problem here in the US too

Fix the roads...

👍

That ride used to freak me out !!!!! What was it called again?

Loved the toboggan now I'm feeling old

Almost died on them toboggans. Went straight up the side. Going round the bend. Almost disappeared down the side. Lucky I had enough forward momentum. And the way the track bent. Landed straight back down the side again. But I was airborne for a good few seconds. Thinks it's why it's gone now. Was a bit dangerous if you picked up to much speed like I did

Taylor Ninham Brody Thompson how killer is that
