SHOCKING Beloved Australian animals are being cruelly stuffed inside socks and shipped to cashed-up overseas buyers. And one region has become a hotspot for the sick trade.

Visitors with young children can now travel a little easier, with access to 5-star Parent Room facilities at Adelaide Airport.

Our new Parents’ Rooms, located on Level 0 and 2, have been awarded 5 stars by the Australian Breastfeeding Association Baby Care Room Audits.

A 3-star Baby Care Room is regarded a great place to go, and a 5-star Baby Care Room, like ours, is considered fantastic!

Have you visited? We welcome feedback to help us continue to improve your Adelaide Airport experience.

This is great but when will the International Arrivals & Departure toilets be done? Needs an extreme makeover! What a disgrace and a complete embarassment.

Candice Mordecai-Jones - passing onto you seeing as you'll be there in a few weeks! X

Christ man you would never fit on that table .

This is fantastic, when you did your upgrade engagement I placed in lots of ideas about the baby rooms. This will make life so much easier for those of us traveling with Children

Lana Tikhomirov Elaine would love it

Oh the memories Briony & Jayne. Did someone break the last one?

Needs more bollards.

This could have come in handy a few year ago Tanya Vanzwol

Michael O'Malley we could’ve used this in Darwin after landing with Z & his present in my lap!

I’ve used them, and every time they have been filthy dirty on most surfaces, bins overflowing, no soap or paper towels.

Happy retirement Pal! 🐾Andy retires after 63 (doggo) years of beagle service

Today we celebrate the retirement of Andy, the second last biosecurity beagle in Australia, after 9 years of successful sniffing service.

Detector dogs like Andy are an important part of Australia’s biosecurity system which operates offshore, at the border and on shore.

Our dogs and their handlers intercept more than 50,000 items of biosecurity risk around the country each year which could potentially devastate our $63 billion agricultural industry and unique natural environment.

During his 63 dog year career as a biosecurity detector dog, Andy sniffed out 2.3 tonnes of biosecurity risk material that travellers failed to declare, including 718 kg of undeclared fresh fruit and veggies and 432 kg of meat.

Andy’s detections resulted in 128 travellers receiving infringement notices.

The work of detector dogs across Australia has been taken over by Labradors, so expect to see Ari the Labrador following his nose around Adelaide airport.

After a busy career working across four airports in three different states, Andy will now join his original and well-loved handler in Sydney.

For more information on our detector dog program, visit agriculture.gov.au/biosecurity/australia/detector-dogs.
