Andrew Rule: What really happened to 'Grandpa Harry'?

LEST WE FORGET | In commemoration of the 2018 Anzac Day Dawn Service being held in Kings Park on Wednesday 25 April, we will be sharing stories of some of the brave Western Australian men and women who gave their lives in battle in World War I and II.

After moving to Kalgoorlie as a baby with his family in 1901, Private William Gannaway lied about his age and at only 16, enlisted in 1916. William left for England and France on the SS Persic from Fremantle. William was killed in action at Messines on 24 May 1917, aged 17, and is buried at Armentieres, France.

After migrating to Perth with his family in 1860, Private Thomas William Edmonds and his younger brother purchased land in Calcarra in 1908. The outbreak of World War I began only a few years later, and the brothers tossed a coin to see who would enlist and who would stay and look after the farm. Thomas lost the coin toss and enlisted in April 1916. Sadly, Private Thomas William Edmonds of the 28 Battalion died on 29 April 1917. He was 38. To this day, the farm is still owned by the Edmonds family.

FACT! As a general rule, we lose approximately the same amount of liquid as if we were jogging - but through skin and breathing instead of sweating. So hydrate well when you fly! (These and more cool facts at www.myaustrianblog.at/en/2017/02/10-myths-facts-about-flying-170210-en/)

So does that mean you would lose weight flying ?

Adelaide Airport is thrilled to present our biggest and brightest art exhibition yet - the beautiful 'she talks to rainbows'.

Curated by Carollyn Kavanagh, 'she talks to rainbows' brings together works drawn from the practices of seven female South Australian artists. The title pays homage to the process of painting and the magic that occurs when pigment and the two-dimensional plane meet. Sharing the use of vibrant colour, this intergenerational line-up of artists work with the vocabulary of painting, both figuratively and in abstraction.

This absolutely stunning collection is the latest Art at T1 exhibition starring South Australian artists and promoting our creative economy. We'd love to see your snaps with this vibrant art, tag @AdelaideAirport!
